Set up alternate data transformation mapping

When importing data from Axiom Management Reporting, you may want to use some of the data in more than one place in the system or in an alternate place instead of the standard destination. The RFSummarizationMap table allows you to map these RFGroups and RFCodes to alternate RFGroups and RFCodes for use elsewhere, eliminating the need to customize the data summarization utilities.

NOTE: Remapping is done during implementation and at any time after as needed when you create new RFGroups that need alternative mapping.

To remap RFGroups and RFCodes:

  1. In the RF Admin task pane under Data Transformation, double-click RFSummarizationMap.

  2. In the Primary RFGroup and Primary RFCode columns, double-click the cells to select the names of the RFGroups and RFCodes that need an alternative mapping.

  3. In the Remapped RFGroup and Remapped RFCode columns, double-click the cells to select the new designations. Note that the RFGroup names may not need to be changed.

  4. The multipliers in this table default to 1, making the data values the same sign used in Management Reporting. To flip the multiplier to negative, in the SignAdjustment column for any items that need it, change the number to -1.

    For example, suppose that in Management Reporting you have an expense as a positive value, but you want to assign the incoming account (rolling up to an RFCode) to a Non Operating RFCode when summarizing data to Rolling Forecasting. In doing so, you could change the sign value so that the expense is changed to a negative value for the Non Operating section.

  5. In the Main ribbon tab, click Save.

When the Summarize Actual Data and Summarize Budget Data data transformation processes run, they access the data in the RFSummarizationMap table and transform the data as specified.
